Natural brown shredded cypress mulch is an excellent additive to any planting. Aside from being decorative, mulching improves the soil over time by decomposing and adding organic material to the soil, in turn acidifying the soil, enabling the plants to make more use of any available nutrients. Pine Bark Nuggets

Pine bark nuggets provide all of the benefits of mulching, but tends to decompose somewhat slower than the shredded mulches. Providing a more natural look is desirable to some, and pine bark nuggets definitely do that. One downfall is that the nuggets can float, or be washed away easier than the shredded mulches. To prevent this, we have landscape borders!
