Best as container specimens. Do not be worried about a small infestation of aphids (small yellow or brown                                                                                    pests under the leaf), as these will attract lady beetles that usually keep the aphid population under control. If your                                                                                      hybrid Adeniums are affected by mealybug, it is recommended to use a systemic insecticide. Call for details.

One of the most popular (common) landscape                                                                                        palms in The Bahamas and South Florida. Our palms are all from local stock, and have proven to be stronger and less                                                                                succeptible to Lethal Yellowing Disease, which has affected much of South Florida's stock. Often used in multiples of 3.                                                                          Growth to 25 feet or more over many years. Plant in full sun, or full shade. Not quite as salt tolerant as the yellow variety.

Plant in full sun or part shade. Propagate by division or seed.

Adenium Thai Hybrid
Adenium White
African Lily........................................................Agapanthus africanus - Purple flower. Requires deep, relatively rich soil. Gorgeous, but seldom flower in Nassau, it does                                                                             not get cool enough in the evenings. We have bloomed all of our specimens, only when they have been in partial shade                                                                               for several months, and they are kept heavily fertilized with a bloom specific fertilizer. Plant in partial shade, add organic                                                                           material, and keep well fertilized. Propagate by division.

These perform at their best when provided with ample moisture and a cool                                                                location. Full shade is best, or filtered sun, avoid direct sunlight. If planting in the ground, recommended to add ample                                                                                 organic material, such as peat moss for moisture retention, aeration, and pH control. Mulch gives added protection.
Aechmea fasciata............................................Silver Vase - Silver foliage with pink blossom. An old time favorite of the bromeliad family. Once the plant blooms, as                                                                                  with all bromeliads, the original plant will begin to push out 'pups' (baby plants) from the base. The original plant will                                                                                     then begin to die. Do not fret! This is normal. Divide the pups and replant, or bring the plant to us and we'll do it for you!
African Bush Daisy.........................................Gameolepsis, Euryops - Yellow daisy-like flowers. Year-round flowering. Growth to about 3 feet in most Nassau                                                                                           locations. In California, Florida, etc, the plant can get up to 5 feet, possibly in Grand Bahama or Abaco it may do this,                                                                                 as the climate is somewhat cooler than in Nassau. Prefers full sun or partial shade. Average moisture requirements.                                                                                   Propagate by cuttings.
African Tulip Tree............................................Spathodea campanulata - Bright orange flowers, several petals. Tree exhibits a tall slender growth habit when in poor soil                                                                             conditions, and a more full, branched pattern when in good soil with adequate moisture. Typically up to about 25' height,                                                                              sometimes up to 40 feet. Reacts well to an ocassional thinning out of the branches. Sends shoots from the base, and                                                                                 can get quite wide, unless maintained by removing the shoots as they appear. Propagate by cuttings.
Agapanthus africanus..................................Lily of the Nile, African Lily - Purple flower.

Maturity is reached after 5 to 7                                                                                  years, after which the plant will flower, sending up a tall (8 feet or more) tree like structure, on top of which form                                                                                          branchlets, that grows plantlets on them. Propagate by division, or plantlets.
