Mexican Bluebell, Shooting Star.........................Ruellia brittoniana - Weedy plant, quite invasive. Over used in Nassau! Can become a pest if not maintained and                                                                                          controlled. Purple flower. Not particularly recommended, although very (too!) popular.

Natal Plum............................................................Carissa macrocarpa 'Emerald Blanket' - Salt tolerant. A very hardy plant, deep green leaf, with a white flower                                                                                               and red fruit. EDIBLE, but not very tasty!. Makes a very nice formal hedge, as it takes well to frequent, light                                                                                                prunings.
Night Blooming Jasmine....................................Cestrum nocturnum - FRAGRANT (only at night). A shrub, light green leaves, sprawling. Can be smelled from                                                                                             50 feet away, or several times that if the breeze is right!

Can be adversely affected by scale insects, and                                                                                                  leafminers.                                                                                              

Phillipine Violet............................................................Barleria cristata, Bluebell Barleria - Herbaceous perennial, used as a bedding plant, or for accent color. Growth                                                                                           to about 3 feet, medium moisture. Full sun or part shade.
Pigeon Berry.................................................................Duranta repens, Golden Dew Drop - NATIVE. A shrub or small tree, purple flowers, golden seeds. Attracts                                                                                                   birds, can take on a sprawling habit.
Pink Nora Grant Ixora...................................................Ixora Hybrids 'Nora Grant' Pink - Pink flowering variety. Large growth habit, high nutritional and pest control                                                                                                 requirements.
Plumbago auriculata 'Alba'........................................White Plumbago - Excellent sprawling shrub, easy to train or to keep pruned as a hedge, on a trellis, or many                                                                                            different ways. Blooms on new growth, so therefore consistant care will provide consistant color! Keep well                                                                                                 watered and fertilized for tremendous results!
Porter Weed Blue........................................................Stachytarpheta urticifolia - Growth to about 3 feet. Small purple flowers, very attractive to BUTTERFLIES.                                                                                                   Similar to our NATIVE variety, but with a slightly larger flower.


Rhaphiolepis indica............................................Indian Hawthorn - Low growing groundcover or shrub. Dark green foliage. White flowers. Salt tolerant.
